Online Course Addresses Sarbanes-Oxley Act
Newly Released "Financial Integrity" Helps Companies Play By The Rules
Press Releases

Dedham, Mass—April 23, 2003 —The recently enacted Sarbanes-Oxley Act makes it more critical than ever that employees understand the importance of financial integrity. As recent events have shown, a misstep in this area can truly destroy a company. Financial integrity includes the obvious examples—creating accurate records concerning sales, revenue, costs and expenses about the company's business, and filing accurate financial statements and reports. But as taught in Integrity's new course, "Financial Integrity," this also means playing by the rules in this area, having sufficient financial controls in place, being alert to potential problems, and reporting concerns and possible violations. Integrity Interactive, the industry leader in delivering Web-based compliance training solutions, has released "Financial Integrity," the latest addition to its highly regarded lineup of corporate ethics and compliance courses.

Integrity Interactive applies the power of Internet-based learning technology to the challenge of helping leading companies comply with provisions of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, the new NYSE/NASDQ listing requirements, and updated recommendations to Federal Sentencing Guidelines.

Integrity's Financial Integrity course is intended for any company manager, or employee involved in sales, marketing, accounting or financial controls, or any other employee who is responsible for creating records concerning sales, revenue, expenses, accounting, or other records affecting the company's financial matters.

According to Kirk Jordan, vice president of compliance services at Integrity Interactive, this story-based course follows the story of an area manager at a fictional company who bends the rules—and ultimately breaks the law—by creating a fraudulent sale to boost her company's year-end revenue. The course contains five central lessons:
  • Don't Falsify Financial Reporting
  • Keep Accurate Records of Sales and Revenue
  • Don't inaccurately classify Costs and Expenses
  • Maintain Accurate Books and Records
  • Have Reporting Procedures and Financial Controls in Place
Integrity Interactive Corp. provides Web-based ethics and compliance training and communications solutions to Fortune 1000 corporations.
